The prayer wheel is an object of Buddhist devotion. It consists of a cylinder (Tibetan: འཁོར་, Wylie: 'khor) on a picnic usually metal or wood. Traditionally, the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is written in Sanskrit on a parchment placed inside the cylinder. According to Tibetan Buddhist tradition based on sacred texts, make a prayer wheel turn, would have the same meritorious effect as orally reciting the prayers.
