Varada-mudrā : gesture of giving.
The right hand is open and drooping, palm facing the viewer, fingers extended.
bhūmisparśa-mudrā : gesture of taking to witness the earth
The right hand is pendulous, the palm turned towards the Buddha, the elongated fingers touch the ground.
dharmacakra-mudrā : teaching gesture, setting up the wheel of the law.
The right hand is vertical, palm facing forward, thumb and forefinger touching; the left hand is inclined and at an angle, the palm is turned inwards, the thumb and forefinger touch; the fingers of the left hand touch the right hand.
dhyāna-mudra or samādhi-mudrā : a gesture of meditation or concentration.
The two hands are placed one on the other, palms up, fingers elongated, they rest on the legs of the characters sitting.
